Day-to-day:
General Scope: Ability to operate and setup all types of CNC, NC, and conventional machines. (NIGHT SHIFT)
Position Summary:
• Load tools in machine that have been pre-set in tool room.
• Load program in machine control.
• Take test cut and measure before finish machining.
• Adjust machine settings, according to blueprints, if necessary.
• Check and change tooling.
• Adjust speeds and feeds as needed.
• Must be able to run conventional machines as well with proficiency.
• Must have the ability to make and edit programs without programmer assistance.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil, filter and coolant levels, removal of chips from machine.
Must Haves:
• Knowledge of the Metric System/ Standard System. Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to operate and read precise measuring instruments associated with the job.
• Must be able to operate material handling equipment associated with the job.
